Wholeness In Singleness

What is wrong with me?  The stigma of being single has created fear in the generation we live in today. Society tags singleness as a state of incompleteness. If you are single and in your late 20's or past age 30 people will ask unfiltered questions such as, " Are you dating anybody ", or, " What are you waiting for to get married ?", and the truth of the matter is that, if you are not sure of who you are, your mind will spiral into negative thoughts that can quickly create a distorted idea of being single. Being single doesn't necessarily mean being lonely. Being single is an amazing opportunity to get to know yourself. In this season you can understand inner battles that have created layers of insecurities. Like an onion, you begin to peel layers of ideas that through failed relationships were created in your mind.  Perhaps in the past you excused abusive ways and behaviors to feel accepted and possibly it even made you insatiably eager to " earn

Be alert

The enemy works in cycles. When he sees that we are doing well on aspects of our spiritual walk, he decides to attack a different weakness/struggle in our lives. The word of God warns us , " Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour . " ( 1 Peter 5:8 ) The Gate is Narrow When we decide to follow Christ our life will not be easier. Declaring that we will place our trust and faith in Jesus initiates a process that will expose addictions, self destructive habits and down-spiral-patterns of the thoughts we rehearse in our minds. When we start to rid ourselves of the destructive behavior we will begin to experience withdrawal symptoms that will tempt us to go back to the comfortable mindsets that have kept us trapped in these addictions.
